Overview

Valley of flower “Foolon ki Ghati” is a fairy-land situated high in the Himalayas of the Uttarakhand lies at a lofty height of 3600 m above sea level, this alluring place is famous for its charming meadows of alpine flowers. Endowed with a diverse range of endemic flora, it is picturesque in its beauty. This lush region is also home to some rare and endangered animal species. You may spot animals like Asiatic black deer, snow leopard, musk deer, red fox, brown bear, and blue sheep.

Legends believe it to be the place from where Hanuman had collected the Sanjeevani Booti for curing Lakshmana. This place has floral pastures, running streams and a beautiful backdrop of the mountains.

It is an awesome sight of colors with a contrasting backdrop of majestic peaks. The snow on the Himalayas adds majesty to the mountains and the innumerable flowers add to its beauty. When the sun shines hot on this field, thousands of flowers bloom here. This valley was unknown till a British mountaineer Frank Smith first discovered this place.

Some of the popular flowers are saxifrags, sediams, lilies, poppy, calendular, daisies, denthus, turmopsis, primula, dadiculatar, pontitala, geranium, cipro nepolysis, holly, pansy, zinnia, petunia, fox, caropsis dynthus etc. The valley is surrounded by high mountains on three sides and is at 3500 to 6,500 mts above sea level. The glaciers amongst this look very attractive.

The flowers here can be best viewed between the months of May and October, a time when the area turns into a botanical wonderland although the maximum abundance of flowers is from July to September.

Reporting time at Ahmedabad Railway Station – 10:00 AM

Travel Duration – 27 Hours

After reaching Haridwar at noon, the day is left free for participants to explore Haridwar. Temples, Cafes, Markets, etc are all glimpsed during the free day. The evening is heartily devoted to Ganga Aarti. Night Stay at Haridwar

Early morning after breakfast we start the uphill drive to Govind Ghat via Joshimath. It is a full-day road trip alongside the river Alaknanda to Govindghat. Along the journey are beautiful sights of the emerald rivers, passing through Devaprayag to witness the holy confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers to form the River Ganges. Govindghat is the starting point for the Valley of Flowers trek. Relish the splendid scenes around and relax for the journey the next morning.

Start the day early with a radiant sunrise and a gratifying breakfast, The initial 4 kms is covered through a drive from Govindghat to nearby town called Poolna. From there the trek starts for the rest 9 KMs to Ghangharia. The trek will take up to 5-6 hours to complete.

Enjoy the trek in the well-defined rocky trail that passes through lush green forest. You will be walking alongside the Laxman Ganga River and green forests. Encounter the various dhabas on the way from where you can get some refreshments and refill your water bottles.

After successfully reaching Ghangharia, the participants are moved to see a wonderful waterfall situated near Ghangharia. Have a delicious dinner of local cuisines in Ghangharia.

Start your day with a wholesome breakfast. The Trek height is 9,600 ft to 11,500 ft and back. The trek will take around 6-7 hours and has 3.7 km each way.

After walking for a while, you reach the gates of the Valley of Flowers National Park, we head inside to notice subtle changes in the scenery at first leading to a beautiful old bridge built over a stream bubbling through the park.

After crossing the bridge, Just a glimpse at the verdant landscape is enough to sweep you off your feet into heaven decorated with colourful flowers, the scenery changes abruptly as the valley opens up on one side, revealing a stunning vista of a seemingly endless expanse of a carpet of flowers of all colours and kinds.

Take a moment to cherish the moment as you feast your eyes on an array of thousands of colourful and vibrant flowers in full bloom one of nature’s finest creations that will treat your soul. You can spot Geraniums, Himalayan Rose, Blue Poppy, the Dog Flower and a lot of other species of flowers all in different vibrant colours – blue, red, yellow, pink.

After lunch, start the trek back to Ghangaria. Reach back to Ghangaria, where you can rest, have dinner.

Waking early morning with sunrise & breakfast, you will undertake the trek to Hemkund Sahib, perched at an altitude of 4300 m. The trek will take a total of up to 9 hours to complete. The trek to Hemkund Sahib is a bit difficult as the path is a steep ascent and you will come across a small waterfall as the vista starts improving. Walk slowly and take numerous breaks as you will feel the effects of reduced oxygen levels in the air to avoid altitude sickness.

Reach Hemkund Sahib, a religious site where Guru Gobind Singh is said to have meditated in the previous life, and take in the serenity and tranquillity pervading the area as well as the picturesque sight of the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, alongside the lake. Surrounded by seven snow-capped mountains and crystal clear Hemkund lake with the rare Brahma Kamal visible every now and then, this place is no doubt soothing and calming.

After relaxing here for a while, and having your lunch alongside the lake, start the descent for Ghanghariya, and enjoy the sunset and waterfall nearby before ending up their day with hot dinner.

Wake up and enjoy another glorious sunrise and satisfying breakfast. After which, we start early for the descent back to the Govindghat. The trek will take around 4 hours and has a distance of total 9 km after which it will be a 4 km drive.

The same day, the camp departs for Badrinath. Badrinath is one of the four ‘Char Dham’. It is the temple of Lord Vishnu. Participants can take a bath in holy hot water spring or “Kund” situated near the temple. Overnight stay at Badrinath.

The day will be spent in Badrinath & Mana Village sightseeing. Badrinath the word Badri means berries and Nath means Lord. Badrinath is a small valley town situated between Nar and Narayana mountain ranges. The river Alakananda flows right through the middle of the town. It is one of the holiest places for Hindus and more particularly for the worshipper of Lord Vishnu.

We will move toward Mana Village early in the morning. It is the last village in India, you may observe the limit between India and China. A fascinating waterfall named “Vasundhara Falls” is located in Mana Village.

We will complete the sightseeing part in afternoon, but then we will have two options depending on weather conditions:

Option 1:

If the weather conditions is not suitable for long travel, we will drive back to Joshimath after spending the whole day in Badrinath. The town of Joshimath is visited. It is also nicknamed Jyotirmath is the winter seat of Lord Badri, whose idol is brought down from Badrinath temple to Vasudeva temple at Joshimath. This holy town is revered by the Hindus for being an important pilgrimage center of the country.

The night stay will be in Joshimath.

Option 2:

If the weather favors us for a long return journey, we will head back to Hardiwar in the afternoon. The night stay will be in Hardiwar Hotel.

Leave early morning for your return journey back to Haridwar. The whole day is free for sightseeing. Participants have multiple options to visit places in Haridwar, Rishikesh. One can visit Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, go for adventurous activities like River Rafting or Bungee Jumping.

Up to the afternoon the participants are free to explore Haridwar, after that, they will head to the Railway station to catch their train.

The end of the camp returns at Ahmedabad taking 27 hours approx. Reach Ahmedabad with beautiful memories of the valley of flowers and an unbelievable bunch of new friends.

Itinerary Breakups as per Packages:

The dates mentioned in the registration are as per the above itinerary. It is shown as per Ahmedabad to Ahmedabad packages.

Ex. Delhi participants need to report at New Delhi Railway Station on Day 2 morning* at New Delhi Railway Station. 

Ex. Haridwar participants need to report at Haridwar Railway Station on Day 3 by 6 AM. The departure of participants will be on Day 9 as per the above itinerary, Accommodation of Day 9 is not included for Haridwar to Haridwar Package.
